new here not new to fish keeping
I have a 29 gallon tank that is cycled and I am stocking it.
Right now I have 2 female platys and 3 bronze cory cats. I am planning to put 3 more corys in there but I would like a different colour witch ones would be alright with them. I do not want albinos but maybe pandas or leopard. I want to get some more platys I love raising them because they are so friendly. I have a 5 gallon to raise the little ones in. I also want to get a clown pleco because it stays small. I also want to get some dwarf loaches for the tank I read they should be keeped in 5s. I also want to put real plants in the tank right now I have fake ones. I am going to get sword plants java moss and java fern and another hardy plant that the pleco would not destroy on me. I am also going to get some real wood for the pleco.
I never liked catfish before I got corys but they looked so cute I bought 3. Every night before bed they play tag and zoom around the tank I feel in love with them.
Welcome to the site, I am also very new here. But LOVING it!!
You will find a lot of great resources here and the folks are very friendly, and willing to help.
Got some pics of your setup so far?
And imho, and its been many years since I had an aquarium, live plants are the way to go. Very beneficial to your fish and the aquarium environment.
here is one of my corys
I was going to look at a group of Bandit Cory but their temperature range is lower than I am likely to end up with. They're smallish and I like the black eye stripe look.
I know I was allergic to blood worms dried ones. so I got the frozen ones I must have gotten on my hand. I rubbed my left eye and it swelled up. So it does not matter if its freeze dried or frozen. Now I am going to use gloves when I feed them and a face mask. here is a picture I took of my face.
Denise, welcome to Tropical Fish Keeping forum, and to the hobby too.:-D
Yes, you can add another three corys. Coryts should be in groups of 5-6 in total, they are sholaing fish, and 3 is the minimum number for each species when there are two or more in the tank. There are many to choose from, just bear in mind the temperature differences as Jeff alluded to. We have sevewral species in our profiels with photos and data; second tab from the left in the blue bar across the top of the page, and corys are under the Catfish category.
Allergy to bloodworms affects several of us, me included. If I even smell them...
