Hello world!!! :)
Wanted to say thank you for such a great site, just starting up a couple of aquariums. Haven't had one since I was a kid, and yes, that was a few moons ago!!!
Needless to say, I went online to get back up to speed on some basics and try to learn a few new things, both of which I have been able to accompolish through this site as well as a few others. So again, thank you for having this resource available for us newbs...... :)
I just uploaded a few shots of my 30 gallon tank to an album on this site, feel free to check them out and let me know what you think. It is still a work in progress.
I also have a 20 gallon tank, that just has a couple of gold fish and a dalmation molly in it. This is the one I had started with, but knew I wanted a much larger one.
At some point I want to have a 75 or 150 gallon one in my living room, but for now starting small. From what I have read and remember, a 30 gallon is a decent sized one and should help get me up to speed on the basics again.
I had never really been much into live plants back in the day, but that is all I am going to be going with in regards to plants in my aquariums. It just seems to be so much healthier for the fish and their environment, just too much benefit not to do it.
Anyway, enjoying the site. You all will see me posting and visiting a lot in the future. And I will make sure to post up photos of my tank(s) and fish, as photography is another of my hobbies.
Hello Frank
Welcome to the forum. It looks like you're off to a good start already. I love the look of your tank.
IMO there's nothing more exciting than planning and setting up a new tank. Enjoy!
Welcome to TFK!
Thanks for the photos, nicely done. And welcome to Tropical Fish Keeping forum.:-D
Thanks! Really am enjoying the site and getting back into having fish! I have two tanks in my library/office along with my bird cage that has two finches (Ozzy and Harriot). And there is nothing nicer than just sitting back in the chair, closing my eyes, and listening to the bubbling of the tanks and the chirping of the finches!!
I will put up details of my tanks soon! And some more photos as well.
Here are some new photos I took of the 30 gallon..
Hi Frank! And welcome to the forum. Glad you discovered the wonders of live plants, too. Your tanks look very nice, and you've done a great job photographing them! So many of us here (including myself) have nice tanks, but just can't capture them on camera.
