hi i looked throught the forum and couldnt find anyone talking about breeding pear gouramis. so i have some questions. first i will tell you want i have i have a male gourami , he is about 4 inches or so. i am going to be buying a female in the next week or so.
should the female be the same size or around there?
is it for sure that they will pair up?
when will the fry be able to go into the big tank?
how many of them accutualy live?
also if you have any other advice please fill free to say it!
you would want to have a fry tankup and running before you introduce a female. size from what i know doesn't really matter. if i were you i would get a smaller female than male. the will probably not make it in the big tank , what lives in it?
hi thank for replying i have 55 gallon in it is a male gourami and 4 zebra danios. i have a 10 gallon tank that i will be using for there breeding tank
hi,i have been looking at maybe breeding mine, this is what i found.
female about 3inches long for breeding.
they can be prone to velvet disease if their water is not
kept clean, provide plenty of floating plants, and don't use a bubbler.
the parents don't tend the eggs,so maybe that might be the time to move
the egg nest to the little tank, keep it warm 79-80
feed the fry on Infusoria and when they are bigger Brine shrimp.
hope this information is correct,i'll be interested to hear
