Black Knifefish Tank mates?

I've been wanting to get a Black Ghost Knife fish for a while know. I've got a 55 gallon with a Rainbow Shark in it as all of my other fish died of Ick. So, I saw this fish and I thought 'I've just got to have one.' But, I was just wondering what types of fish I could add with it. I've heard that Gourami are okay with them. What other fish?

You will find helpful information in our profile; this fish has very unique requirements, not least of which is a tank 6 feet in length and 2 feet in width when it is grown. Click the shaded name Black Ghost Knifefish.

Well, I know our tank isn't quite 6 foot. We might upgrade sometime soon, though. I'd give our current tank to my Painted Turtle who has far out grown his 10 gallon... I'd love to just stick him in with the shark but then I wouldn't be able to see him every morning when I wake up because he wouldn't be in my room any more...
