Introducing Cories, Plus Calcium

My 55 FW gallon tank is now cycled and in a week or so I want to add 6 panda cories. My question is, should I add them in small groups, say 3 at a time, or all 6 at once? I have heard that adding several fish at once can disrupt your tank's cycle. However, I know that panda cories like to be in groups of 6 or more.

Also, I am currently using a half dose of Kent Marine Liquid Calcium in the tank for my mystery snail. The amount I'm adding is 1/8 teaspoon daily. Will this product harm the cories?

The calcium won't harm them.

Is the tank fully cycled? how long has it been running and what other fish are in there?

I'm inclined to say 3 at a time with a week in between, but the state of your tank will determine this better. Definitely do not add any until the cycle is complete and parameters are steady, if they are not already.

Thanks for your reply.

The tank has been running for 3 and a half weeks, and it finished cycling 4 days ago (ammonia and nitrite readings at 0 consistently for the past 4 days, nitrate at 6). The other fish are 1 dwarf blue gourami, 5 long-fin black skirt tetras, 1 black molly, 1 silver molly, and 1 mystery snail.

I am going to wait another week before adding any new fish, but I wanted to see how I should introduce the cories when I do get them.

I would be safe and just add 3 now, wait a week, and if water params are still steady, add 3 more.

Well I went ahead and got 6 panda cories. They are all still quite young, only a half an inch long. My LFS had just got them stocked and every time I've been there for the past 2 months they've been out, so I knew I had to get them then or they'd be sold out. The LFS employee said it would be fine to add them all at once at their size. Thanks for all of your advice.

Just make sure you monitor your parameters closely. If you get an ammonia spike, do a water change every day until it's back under control. I just added 9 neon tetras to my new tank and as a result have been testing my ammonia every evening. No spike yet, and I'm 3 days in.
