how do i use salt?

how do i use aquarium salt from API ?

I have 4 small tiger barbs, 1 turquoise severum, 1 blood parrot and a plecostomus. will i use the same dosage (1 tablespoon for every 5 gallons) for all my fish to treat ich? Also how will i get the salt out of my tank after the ich is treated? when will i use super ick cure from API and can i use it with the aquarium salt?[/code]

Do salt first and it's one tablespoon per 5 gallons. The salt will dissipate with your water changes. It won't hurt the fish and I would defiantly do a 30%-50% water change after 4 days.

I don't recommend this for FW fish at all. There is no need for salt for FW fish, and prolongued use only weakens their immune system.

No only livebearers and blackwater fish need salt on a regular basis. Use it only for ick if you dont have these fish
