125g tank up and running hey i recently got a 125g tank up and running again. it currently holds a black convict, parrotfish, and som other random chichlid. i have thought about getting an oscar and/or a mottled bichir(prices on this fish are steep though, so if u know a place plz let me know). I was reallly wonderring if any1 has good ideas to make the tank more active, cause all the chichlids do is hide. |

How about adding a couple schools of dither fish like giant danios or black skirts? This would make the tank more active and interesting and maybe help the cichlids you have to feel more at ease. |
it's a blood parrot, and sry i don't have pix. y is an oscar bad? |
how long has the tank been running? without knowing what these random cichlids are we cant recommend anything, if it were just the parrot and the convict, i would say you would be fine, but without knowing these "random cichlids" we cant say an oscar is a good choice. |
tanks been running at least 4 months and the last one is a jack dempsey(for sure) |
well, if all you have is a Convict, Bp, and JD, then id say an oscar is a possibility. but you said random cichlids (plural) is their something your not telling us about? |
no look at the top just the three thanks tho. |
i got a tiger oscar and he is doing great i've decided tho to get rid of convict and dempsey to get the weeksii bichir. so it will just be 1. oscar 1. blood parrot 1. weeksii bichir the one problem i think i'll encounter is algae control. is there a fish other than pleco that can live with these? |
Just use the algae scraper. No need to rely on fish to clean up algae for you. |
