White fuzzy spots on Amazon Swords Had an ich breakout a few weeks ago but got that taken care of, everything normal, then all of a sudden my Amazon Swords and only my swords started getting these white spots everywhere, my Banana plants are fine. I tried puttung in some aquarium salt to no avail. Has anyone had this problem or have an idea about taking care of it? |
I would never use salt ... it can actually kill plants. Do you have pictures? |
I only tried the salt because it was advice given to a few other people that had a similar problem and it worked within a day or two. The good news is that I checked today and the spots are almost completely gone and my plants still look healthy. Thanks for the tip about the salt, I found the time to do a little more research and found these links, Salt in a Freshwater Aquarium - Using Salt in a Freshwater Aquarium or Aquarium Salt as a Treatment and Cure for Tropical Fish and Goldfish. . I also found out that it's not particularly healthy for scaleless fish like my Clown Loaches. Anyway, I appreciate the response,Thank You. |
We have an article here about salt, worth your read: http://www.tropicalfishkeeping.com/f...quarium-97842/ I'd be interested to know what these white spots were. Did you come across any photos online perhaps? Byron. |
I did see some photo's online but they weren't very distinctive, they were as bad as the one's I took. the spots don't show up very well. They're a muted grey white, with some of them flat and the others like a tiny cotton ball. It still seems odd to me that only my Amazon's were affected by this and not my Banana's. |
