Would LED Lunar Lights affect my planted tank?
Would using a couple of LED Lunar Lights at night ( something like similar to this Aquarium LED Lights: Current USA TrueLumen LED Lunar Lights ) have any affect on the plants or finish in my tank? Or is it small enough to have no impact?
Thanks for your time! =)
Think I may have answered my own question =)
searched and found this: http://www.tropicalfishkeeping.com/a...uestion-55570/
Though if anyone has any input, it would be appreciated =)
All I'll say is to add my vote to the keep it dark crowd. Light is light, doesn't mater if it's white or blue it will still keep you up at night.
In a dense forest, or jungle as most of these fish come from, it's pitch black at night due to the extremely dense tree cover.
Here's an addtional/side question..
Could something like that be used to ease the transition when the timer shuts the lights on and off? Maybe have a feint light on 15 mins before the main lights flick on, and 15 mins after the main lights flick off?
This way its more of a gradual darkness rather than a flash. Was reading that the fish can stress and need time to adjust when the lights just flick on and off.
The overhead tank light should never come on or go off in a dark room, "dark" meaning as in no ambient light. That is highly stressful to fish.
Gotcha. When it turns on in the morning there shouldn't be an issue, I have it set for late morning, when there's always a bit of light in the room. I'm mostly concerned about when it turns off at night, I can't always guarantee I'll be there to make sure the room has lamps on.
P.S. Thanks for the article! ^,^
