My sick platy :(
I have a red wag platy that has this blemish type thing on one side of her body, it kind looks like a pimple..it is red like blood like and her scales are pealing a bit..I checked my levels and there is some stress in my tank as it is kind of overstocked..about 20 in a 10gal..3 adults and the rest juniors I know it is overstocked but I seem to be maintaining gd levels..my question is I havent seen this before on a platy what can I do for her?? I seem to be losing one adult every 2-3wks..how long do platys live for?? Sorry for the long post thanks again
Can you take her out and put her in a hospital or QT tank and observe her for awhile. I can't get my platy's to live past a couple of years. They are not long lived fish. Hardy at first but not long lived.
They live for ~2 years. Definitely overstocked, so return fish, give away fish, or buy a bigger tank, a tank like that should only have 3-4 fish. Also when you say your levels are "Fine", what are they exactly?
