Is this normal with Trumpet coral?
I've had my green trumpet coral for a few weeks, and he has grown 2-3 new frags in that time. Yesterday I noticed the "stalk" part of it, is a bit grey. I don't remember it being that color?? I checked my calcium and it's at 460. My other parameters are all good, with readings now of slight nitrates. I've had this tank running with 0 nitrates for about 2 months. I think my protein skimmer does a great job :)
Any ideas? Should I be concerned? I would hate to lose this, as it is such a pretty, bright light green.
No worries. If you still see the fleshy part of the Coral coming out, your safe. The stalk is the calcium exoskeleton. Not to worry.
