Stocking suggestions pls
Hi guys and gals,
Getting a 32 gal hex tomorrow. I know hexs aren't best but I got a great deal on it...comes with hood/light, wood stand, filter, heater, conditioners and even flakes for 50$ !
The wife likes cichlids and their colors. We saw electric yellows, JD's and she was fond of em. Now I know JD's is a bad idea and I didn't hear good things about the yellows.
What smaller size cics would be a good idea and could we do a small community with this tank?
prolly convicts or firemouth meeki's. iam no expert but those are a place to start. :D
Kribs and Rams are nice additions. Both are Dwarf Cics and get very colorful. Rams are more peaceful. Both can be kept with others of the same specie, but be careful around breeding time. They will get very aggresive as will any cic.
i thought about that mix too. :)
german blue rams are quite beautiful, tho you need a pair of em for them to be in their best.
I think 2 pairs of Rams (which means 2 males, 2 females, not 4 rams) should do nicely in that.
thanks for your quick replies!
Unfortunately I dont think I have seen any of those you mentioned at my LFS. Could probably order some...
Any other suggestions?
if you tank is 18 or more inches deep you could have Angel fish,
how are you going to cycle the tank ?
bio spira to be delivered from foster on friday. I am going to put some of the gravel from my cycled tank aswell.
tank is 25'' high
Seen beautiful black angels at my lfs...could I put one in there with something else that is colourful?
I would suggest having at least 2 angels. Get them when they are young.
As Angles mature, they will eat anything Neon Tetra sized and smaller.
