Opinions on who to rehome?

In my 55 gallon, I have 5 angelfish. 2 are about 4 inches long and the other 3 are a tad bit smaller (different growth rates, got them all the same time at the size of a nickel). Well, now the two bigger ones don't get along. One picks on the other relentlessly. Constantly chases and bites the other. Poor guy cowers in the corner most of the day. He's got some screwed up scales and his jaw is slightly beaten up (nothing some clean water and salt can't fix). This has been going on for quite a while. Rearranging the tank doesn't help and when I can't stand to watch it anymore, meanie gets a timeout in a breeder net. That chills him out for about a day. All the other angels get along just fine with the occasional nip. No one appears to be pairing up (too young yet).

Any opinions on which to rehome? (picker or pickee) Not sure if it makes a difference.

It's just my nature but I always take the bully back to the store... instant attitude adjustment. You will find tho that someone else in the tank will then take the top position. Pecking order.

Haha, that's who I was leaning towards. I like the other guy better anyway. I understand there will be a pecking order. Some fighting and a dominant fish is totally fine with me. But this poor guy doesn't get a break. You can hear when he bites him. I'm surprised the bully lets him eat.

Ouch!! Poor baby!! He deserves his own tank. LOL

Haha, I know right. I do have a 29 he could fit in. Unfortunately for him, it's growing out 2 younger angels who are considerably smaller and I don't want them beat up either.

Is it possible the "pickee" is a female and its just a violent courtship?

Try removing them both from the tank, adding the pickee, and the picker a day later?
