The glass on tank

I have a 29 gallon tank for around 7-8 years now and the glass on it looks cloudy. I asked around my area to pet stores if they could help me and one told me that I need to empty my tank totally, clean it with bleach, set it out for 12 hours in the sun then clean it with a mild detergent and 24 hours later I could set my tank back up. Well, I done that and it still looks cloudy. Its mainly on the sides and back. Does anyone have any suggestions? Oh, and also I only had 2 fish in the tank until about 2 weeks ago, I have 6 all total. I also clean my tank at least once a week and change my filters. If anyone could help me out I would appreciate it. [/u]

I had the same problem with an old tank many years ago. I found out that it was a lime/calcium build-up on the glass. I tore the tank down for a second time and used straight vinegar to remove the lime deposits. Of course I smelled like a pickle for a week, but it worked.

about the glass on tank?

Thank you so much for your help. I am going to try that even though vinegar does smell. LOL.
