guppy advice
 

I have 3 guppies in a juwel tank rio 125 a male and two females which one is almost ready to drop i cant wait but my worry is after doing a water test all my levels are fine and my fish seem to be in good health (no obvious illness) and the tank as seen in my photos is well planted so why do they keep flicking there gills from time to time of the wood and plants id appreciate the help as with babies being expected any time soon i dont want to lose any

that may be genetics talking because I have had several guppies up to this point and only one has the same condition it is probably just the individual plus super active gills.

Well maybe they were a dodgey batch of of colourful guppyies because theyall breath fast and itch but are in perfect health so do any of your females start guarding your males and fighting of other females when there heavily pregnant amd is this just a pregnancy behaviour ? I've always had guppies but these are reallygiving me a run for my money haha and thanks for the reply

Number's for test result's are much more revealing than description's such as fine,normal,OK.
Could be something is a little off which is causing them to flick off of object's in the tank .
With that said,,so long as it is not constant behaivor,and regular water changes are being performed,,I might just observe the fishes closely for a while before I got too nervous.
Would not worry bout losing babies for many many more will be born assuming the conditon's are suitable.

Has your temperature been steady ? What is it ?

My temperature is 75 degrees and they don't constantly do it just every now and again mainly just after they have finished feeding and they finish all the food as I don't over feed erm ph is 7.6 the amonia and nitrite are 0mg and nitrate is 5.0mg and these were done just before I did my weekly water change of two jugs out and three jugs in and the only other behaviour other than flicking that is confusing me as I've never seen it before in all the years I've kept guppies is my heavily pregnant female is almost ready to giving birth she keeps trying out different area's of the tank but she is being really aggressive towards my other female and she use to bond and swim along side the male but she is now becoming aggressive towards him and yet there's plenty of room as they are the only fish in the tank the only time she isn't aggressive is at night when they all rest together in the top of the filter as its pitch black and has less water aggitation and the filter has an open top so there's no chance of them becoming stuck or being sucked about

HEY GUYS JUST THOUGHT I'd LETT YOU ALL KNOW THAT THANKS to all your advice my female guppy has now successful gave birth to 20 fry :D sooo happy thanks guys

strangest thing two of my females gave birth around same time as yours.:-D
