Super high PH. What kind of fish can I keep?
 

Hello,

I live in the mountains, so my water comes from a well.
The water chemistry is very odd:

PH:9-10 (I can't tell exactly because my testing strips only go to 9)
KH:240+ (testing strips only go to 240)
GH:0

I was wondering what kind of fish can live in my water?

I can lower the PH slightly by putting leaves or wood in the water, but it turns the water yellow/brown, and it is quite unnatractive.
(any suggestions on how to lower it easily?)
I can also raise the GH easily if needed.

guppies are an option they can live in basically any water. you could also have catfish of some sort

Do you still have all those betta's in your signature?

Yes I do have them still, but am in the process of re-homing them.

Livebearers and African cichlids do well in hard water

is the pH still 9-10 after the water sits for 24 hours?

Yes unfortuneately.
I have been using this special filtered water.. I beieve it is called reverse osmosis.
And the water chemistry is perfect for the betta, so I've been using it for the sick fish and all of my small tanks, but there isn't enough water for my big tanks.

But I have decided to get oscars and then use driftwood to lower the ph to around 8.
