fish splash causing dripping hi all here's a smallish problem i have,i presume it's gone on for forever but i never noticed because the tank was on carpet. now that we have changed to laminate flooring i can hear drips ! this isn't good,as i presume it will rot the floor ? this is happening at the back of the tank,it's not all the time. the fish splash when they are chasing around, and cause the splash, which then seems to cause the drip, usuallly two drips then nothing, now although this dosen't seem a lot,for me it's rather too much. would anyone have any suggestions please. thanks. :-) |
Are there glass top's on the tank Willow? Maybe some nylon window screen to cover gap at the back where glass stops to allow room for filter intakes?(this might prevent splashes from leaving the tank ) Can you lower water level a bit ? Perhap's a bath towel on floor behind the tank ?:tease: |
1077 has some good ideas. Do you have an arrangement where you can put a towel at the bottom of the tank where water will be caught before it gets to the floor ? Laminate flooring stands up well to moisture. |
hey :-D bath towel...... i've taken some photos, but i don't think i'll need post them,as i reckon i've sussed it out ! the flow outlets i think were facing to high,so causing to much movement in the top corner of the tank, which is where the water was coming from,i checked the kitchen roll paper that i had tucked into the rim and checking it just now it is dry  |
