Looking for the Ultimate Pleco

I am looking for a pleco. I want one that is not just a normal common pleco, but under $20. I really need help here. I really like the Rio de Para Pleco (L-75) but he is $60, and thats too much. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Your spending will limit will definitely put a crimp on the suggestions. I was going to suggest a Royal Panaque(Panaque nigrolineatus -- L-0027),

And I took fancy of the L25-Xingu Scarlet Pleco.

gold nugget pleco?

I found a "False Zebra Pleco" at my LFS and it was $20. I couldn't see him because he was in the corner in some plants and I didn't buy him, but does anyone have a picture or have any opinions? I might pick this guy up sometime.

I also want a very small pleco to go in my 10g guppy breeding tank. Is there a really pretty pleco that stays little but does a good job cleaning while not eating any fry or eggs?

Sorry for all the questions! Thanks for all your answers though!

The best cleaning pleco is a Bristlenosed Pleco. They stay around 5" long, but I don't know if they should be in a 10G.

Another dwarf pleco is the Clown pleco. Very shy and reclusive, and not the best of cleaners, but it eats dead plant matter and does its job. I think they stay around 4".

Best to reserve it if you still haven't. Have you look into Columbian Zebra pleco profiles? Planetcatfish.com has enough catalogs for those plecos you are looking for.

I really like the butterfly pleco and the Hillstream Loach. I think I am going to try to find one of these, but still open to suggestions. Would either of these work in my situation?

The hillstream loaches are coldwater species and will do best in river specialist tanks so scratch them out of the list.

Darn. Those are really cool. Well, then I think it is down to the butterfly pleco and clown pleco.
