Crypt Wendtii Brown & Tropica

I've had these plants since last year and for some reason they refuse to turn the colour their supposed to be. I dose with flourish and use root tabs and occasionally I'll have a few completely brown leaves but the rest are as if in limbo and indecisive about whether they want to be green, or brown. Is there any reason for this?

Thanks :)

From what I've read, light has the biggest impact on plant colors. Most of the red or purplish colored plants need more light for them to display those colors. Otherwise, they will revert to a more normal green color.

Yeah, it's light. I have a couple non-green varieties of them too but they stay mostly green because I have floating plants that block a lot of the light.

Think you have to get into the upper end of moderate before that happens, but then you walk a fine line with nutrient balance without adding CO2.

If your plant is the "Tropica" variant, the leaf colour tends to remain on the dark green side, as shown in the Tropica site's photo: Plant Details
