WTK: How to breed arowanna?

Anyone know how to breed the arowannas? someone told me they cannot be breed...

To my knowledge, they have never been bred in an aquarium. I would think that it would take a HUGE tank. They are a pretty big fish.

as said by herefishy... I have read that these have never been successfully bred in the aquarium. and yes you would need many large tanks to do it!!!

lol how could they have never been bred if there all over the market :?: +1 on the HUGE tank, most likely a pond or something.

Most Arowannas are wild caught. They have never been bred by the amatuer aquarist according to all reference material I have here. I do imagine that some suppliers have spawned them in large ponds/pools in areas like Thialand and Singapore. And I do think that they are much larger than 1000g.

I stand corrected. There has been one report of an aquarist spawning arowannas in a 600g tank. Either he was lucky or fate smile upon him, I think.

no matter if it has happened or not, its extremely unlikely you will breed arrowanas, rather than waste time and money you could just turn that big tank into a great looking predator tank or something.
