I dont think my betta is eatting!?
 

I just got my betta yesterday and i havent seen it eat yet or his food disapeare...is that normal??

help please i dont want it to die :cry:

It could be that he is still settling in. What size of a tank do you have him in, and do you have a heater in it?

Be careful to remove any uneaten food as it will pollute the water rather quickly.

I got him in 1 gallon tank...he seems happy in it, he swims around n plays with his reflections.

and its has a light thingie with it...

What is the water temperature?

I haven't kept bettas before, but I'll give you the advice that I can:

1. Get a thermometer and check the exact water temperature, it may be that the water isn't warm enough for him and you will need to get a heater.
2. Do a lot of research - there are a lot of betta threads here.
3. Get a test kit to test your water parameters
4. Regular water changes, adding dechlorinator and adding water at the correct temperature.

If he still doesn't eat, perhaps try feeding something different. What are you feeding at the moment? Flakes?

well im not sure...i let the water sit there for awhile and let the light heat up the water...it dosent feel cold...it jus felt like the water in his little cup...

You could try different food - but I would leave it a day or so in case he's just stressed.

Also, don't keep the lights on all the time - some people find their bettas are more relaxed with the lights off. Perhaps try switching them off for a while and see if he relaxes a little.

its betta food...floating mini pellets...i dont know he might not like them...i might go out tomorrow n try something different...

and i saw in the store they sell food for betta that r stressed or lifeless...you think i should try that...?

I mean i look at him right kno n he jus sittin there, he could be tried from playin around with his reflection...

and do they get loney???

It might also be an idea to provide a hiding place to make him feel more secure. A couple of fake plants would do. Good luck with him, and don't hesitate to ask questions, that's what we're here for!
