Who can help me choose the right plant for this scape?
I can't figure out what to use for tree leaves in my forest scape. Moss, floating, or driftwood attached?
Which moss has the largest leaf area? Does anyone know if anubias would do well close to the light source, like at the top of a "tree"? I had even used hornwort floating at the top before, but it got everywhere and clogged my filters. I didn't have any luck keeping it alive once out of substrate either. I thought about a hair net to keep it together. Is there a trick to keeping it healthy just floating? Maybe it had too much heat from the lights.
I could really use some help. Thanks!
I would use some sort of moss. My only experience has been with the common Java Moss, and this manages in low light but also seems fine in more direct light once settled.
Hornwort will fall apart with the addition of any chemicals. Otherwise it is said to be easy and hardy. I believe many do find it constantly drops its needle-like leaves though. Could be the chemical issue.
I would not use Anubias close to the light, as this is bound to cause brush algae. Anubias is best in low light or indirect light/shade.
