I have 3 Swordtails in my 25 gallon tank(1 male,2 females). They have had a number of fry that I have moved into my 2 10 gallon tanks. Right now they are around 1/2 long but I know how big they can get, I'am guessing the 10 gallons are going to be to small for them once they mature? Or would 2 swordtails and a few guppys be ok in a 10 gallon?
i have 14 swordtail fry in my 5 gal tank. .soon my nephew will take them. they are 4 weeks old. i think what you have will be ok.
Should be fine.
I'm not sure we are all on the same wavelength here, may be some misunderstanding.
As the fry grow, they must be culled, moved into larger tanks periodically, or they will be stunted. A 10g is not sufficient space for more than one mature (fully grown) swordtail; this fish will reach 4-5 inches and possibly 6 inches, and it likes to swim. If it is healthy and in the proper environment of course.
byron is right we missed the point. i thought the fry for now are ok for two 10 gal tanks.i now have 1/2 of mine in the 10 gal & 1/2 still in my 5 gal.till my nephew takes them to his larger tank
