What do feed dwarf gourami fry? Mine have spawned over a dozen times (mostly limited to three sesions), but all my attempts at feeding them have failed... Any ideas? I tried "old water" from a bucket of leaves kept outside, homemade gelatin food, and spirulina powder.. Posted via Mobile Device |
I went to the LFS and bought Nutrafin Max baby fish food for my fry. Have you tried that? I have heard that very frequent water changes, DAILY, will have them growing much faster than left to a normal water change regime. Congrats!! |
I just spawned these for the first time. I have wigglers atm and was gonna give a shot feeding infusoria for a first food. Mine are in a 15 gallon soil tank with just the male right now heated to 84 with plants and lots of oak leaves. A bubbler but no filtration. My plan was to pull the male in a few days. Probably isolate the nest with a plastic container for a couple days after that. I won't be surprised if they all die lol. Spawning isn't the challenge its the fry to juvie part I suck at. |
I don't have any experience with gourami fry myself but I've used numerous foods on different species of fry in the past and I've had luck in keeping a majority of them (You win some and you lose some) I've used: Hikari first bites (It's a food that's ground perfectly and sinks slowly) Crushed flakes And recently I started using live baby brine to feed my peacock fry. |
