Possible ich?

About a month ago I set up a freshwater 29 gallon. I have 8 guppies (5 females 3 males) in the tank. One of the female gab birth a week or two ago, and since has been fairly skinny. I expected she would get her gravid spot back and get slightly bigger, but she hasn't. Today I noticed that she also has little white dots on her fins and lower body. It looks to me like ich. I'm going to quarantine her, increase the temp on the tank a few degrees, and I've added some salt to the water along with a quick water change of approximately 10% (I plan to do another one tomorrow). Am I doing everything right? Anything else I should be doing? (I also added a very minimal dose of pimafix. Approximately half of what you would need for 5 gallons)

On another note, one of the males recently got his tail caught on something and part of it is gone. Part of his tail has a brown tint to it. Is this normal? What should I do?

I would ignore the tail for now, unless more of the tail dissolves. (just keep an eye on it.)

Are you confident that the guppy has ich? Can you post a photo? IF it is ich, you'll need to treat the whole tank. If you just have guppies and no live plants, they're pretty tolerant of salt. I'd work up to about 1tbsp per 5 gallons and slowly increase the temperature to 85-88F for a week after symptoms dissappear.

I'm not entirely confident. However looking at pictures online it does look similar. I can't think of anything else that it could be. They look almost like little pieces of salt attached to the fish. There are only a few dots ( I barely caught it...) so I don't think it would show up well in a picture.
