Can someone identify this plant?
 
I believe this is either an alternanthera ammannia or lobelia cardinalis?http://www.fishforum.com/userpix/4033_DSCN2117_3.jpg

Looks more like some sort of variation of Hemigraphis Colorata. Not a true aquatic if so. Even if it's not, true aquatics *in general* tend not to have colouring like that.

tigger - amazing response! - I suspected this. And all I have to go on is the following book, "aquarium plants" by Peter Hiscock and it's accompanying pictures.

I believe I will order a rotala macrandra for that area of the tank.
