Injured Black Sailfin Molly
I hope this is in the right place and someone can help me out quickly. ^^;

I have a male Black Sailfin molly, who, next to my Dalmation Lyretail Male is the pride of my tank. I think I know WHY he was injured, but I am not sure how to help(I had too many boys in the tank, but I am working on finding them homes and have been). He was attacked by one of my other males, I think it was my Silver Sailfin/Lyretail molly, they're about the same size. Well, regardless, my Black Sailfin has a big chunk out of him on his belly from his anal fin to just beyond where his tail starts. About a quarter of an inch long or so. It's the only injury he has, but it's a visible chunk out of him and he is not doing well. He is able to eat, but I have to bring the food to him as he has trouble swimming too high. It was horrible to see a big red hole on him this morning, there was no warning or issues with them for several months! They had a tail slapping spat about three months ago, but that was about it and over a girl. At the time, they were the only two boys in there with seven females.

It's pretty bad. He is not acting well and is having trouble swimming. He can't seem to get up more than an inch off the gravel, and that is obviously painful for him, but he can swim around, he just doesn't much and stays in one place at the bottom for the most part, or in a plant. He has no other injuries on him that I can see and my other fish are untouched which is surprising, he can hold his own and is not small! Though he's never had to really, he's never been in a fight fight like biting and ripping and chasing, though the silver male would threat display at him, they never even banged tails unless my Creamsicle female got into it with them, but bites never happened. She has a thing for my black sailfin and lets ONLY him mate with her and will start fights with the silver male, so I assume this caused the problem.

Unfortunate it had to happen today, I was going to give away my other males in just a few hours. v.v; I was talked into getting balloon mollies, one was a male, I should say I was forced to, which left me with eight females and four males, instead of what I wanted: Two males and eight girls. I am still giving Silver and the male balloon molly away if I can get away with it by the person who forced them on me. lol That'd be my grandma and she helped pay for the tanks, so I couldn't really turn her down, but I did try to.

Anywho, I was wondering if there is anything I can do to help him out. Regardless, I don't think he will make it, but I really want to try and save him.
Right now I have him in my nursery tank with my older fry that aren't ready for new homes yet, and my black Kuhli Loaches, I didn't want the adult mollies to hurt him anymore, though I know moving him was not easy on him. >< I need to know if there is a gentle medicine that will help him recover his lost scales and heal. I have added a little aquarium salt, though I always have a little in the tanks anyways, and some Pimafix. I always keep the temp between 78 and 80 degrees. I hear Pimafix is supposed to help keep infections down and remedy some bacterial infections, parasites and fungus and such. I worry using that stuff though, so I halved the dosage. Otherwise it makes my fish loopy and I don't think it's good for Kuhli's as they are "Scaleless". Is there a medicine that can help him heal and not hurt my young mollies or the Black Kuhli Loaches? Or atleast up his chances of survival. I don't want to hear any "Let him die" Or "Flush him" nonsense, but if you guys don't think he'll make it either, we have something in common. But I'd like to try no matter what the opinion is. =)

If ending his suffering is the best thing to do...I do not know how to do such a thing humanely and painlessly for fish. So I think that's out of the question, but I just hate that he is suffering. It's not like you can stitch up a fish, and yes, it looks that bad. I can see red where his scales were ripped off, and there's a visible good chunk out of him, like a deep dent(It looks like a mini shark got in and attacked him, seriously). But he doesn't seem to be bleeding, I can't see it anyways, but I also know it happened sometime in the eight hours I was asleep. I am hopeful it's not as bad as it looks. Wish me luck, and any help or advice is very greatly appreciated!

Here's a photo of him, don't look down if you don't want to see a pretty bad injury. It's not pretty. He's no longer swimming around the bottom, he just hangs in the plant until he falls, then he thrashes around until he finds a new spot. Jeez, I don't know what to do! >< I don't think he's fixable, what can I DO for him to make him hurt less until he either goes or decides to live? I know he's a fish, but it bothers me so much I just want to cry. I love my fish as much as I love my cat and ferrets. v.v When I put up the post at first I thought it was only fair to give him a chance, he was awkward and hurting, but now he just doesn't look even remotely fixable anymore. I once had a gold dust male who almost ripped the gills off a female, but she managed to pull through and is to this day happy, scarred but happy, and even breeds and lives normally. Is there a possibility he may be saved? If not, can someone tell me how to...well, end his suffering in a humane, painless way.

I apologise to those this may make upset. This is what he looks like right now, and no, he isn't dead, he swam around after this was taken and is nibbling on an algae wafer right now:

Nevermind, he died. v.v; This has been a terrible day for me. But if anyone can tell me about medicines for such things that I may be able to use in the future, hopefully I wont ever need to, but it would be good to know about.

I gave away my killer fish, a young man at the petshop wanted him and two girls I brought in as well, so I'm happy he got a place with someone nice. I told him he can't be with any other male at all and why, and he told me "No problem!". Heh, the one good thing that happened to me the entire day! =)

Thanks for any help I may receive in the future! ^_^
