i spotted my gourami just now and noticed one of his eyes were larger than the other. what should i medicate him with? is it contagious? nevertheless, i isolated him in his tank but due to lack of resources, i wasn't able to put a filter on it. it should be okay since he is an anabantid right? right now i just put dechlorinated water + salt in his tank just for precautionary measures.
Please guide me because I think he is getting weaker and weaker by the minute :(
Did not even eat the FBW i gave him! They used to love those even if they were a little sick
Before anyone can do much to help we must ask some questions. What are your water params for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and pH in the main tank? What is the water temp? How big is the tank? What other fish and how many are in the tank? How often do you perform water changes? How much water each time?
There are a number of possible causes for the eye problem, but most often it is bacterial and/or fungal. Before we can help you to treat this, we need to figure out what caused it... water params and any other info you can provide us will help to properly and quickly diagnose this issue so we can offer you a treatment asap.
Is it possible to post a picture? A clear photo of the problem can make all the difference!
