mating mollies

hey im kind of a rookie at this and about 4 weeks ago my balloon molly and black molly mated and niw i have 5 little baby moliies. unfortunetly my black mollie (who was the female) ended up dying the next day, so i was just wondering if it would be wise to try and mate one of the mollie fry with the male balloon mollie or if that would cause any problems since he is the father.

Inbreeding is possible but comes with the risk of defected fry, but yes it's quite possible to do it and it's done every day in the aquarium trade. If there is no direct goal you are trying to achieve by inbreeding then I see no point in attempting to do so.

ok i was just wondering because i want to continue breeding the fish and was wondering if i should just use the ones i have now or go and buy a female at the store.
