Which fish to keep with Oscars??
I have a 100 gallon tank with 5 Oscars(3 in) and a pair of Blood Parrots. My tank looks very empty so decided to keep some more fishes. I like Green Terrors very much but i heard that they bully and humiliates Oscar.Any suggestion welcomed..
Please dont comment on the tank size as my fishes are comfortable ,eats well ,swim freely and are happy with eachother.
This is my tank--
I don't think your tank looks empty, looks nice. Everybody gets along and they are eating well...sounds like a great set up. If you really must get another fish, how about a pleco or a big catfish ? They would add a little different behavior to the tank.
I used to have 2 oscars in a bigger tank and they get ALOT bigger than yours currently are i would hold of putting anything else in there.
Why not get another tank and have different fish in it ?
What about Green Terror? They are beautiful fish to keep..
Dude I already have a spare tank with mollies and platies in it.
Green terrors or Dempseys are good to mix with Oscars as long they are within the same size .
I had no problem years ago when i had a mix's of those two actually three of them in a 75 gallon tank .. Put about 100 guppies in the tank when you get them ,just to get the aggressiveness out of them when they are added to the tank .They'll be to busy chasing the guppies .
I got a GT with my Oscar's.They seem to get along fine till now.My GT is about half the size of O's.No problems yet.
My O's only chased when i introduced him in the tank and then they were all fine..Hurray I did it
how many terrors did you put in? Is it the florescent green one or blueshish green?
Mine is juvenile but gets along with other O's fine.He is getting the colors now..here is the pic
Oscars will grow, if they're healthy, at a rate around an inch per month until they reach their max somewhere between 12 and 18 inches. With five of them in this tank, look out. [Click the shaded name to read the profile info.]
