Cichlid Identification i have two cichlids that i'm not sure what they are. anyone have any ideas? Or maybe i need to let them get bigger to identify them. http://www.fishforum.com/userpix/4066_cichlid1_1.jpg http://www.fishforum.com/userpix/4066_cichlid2_1.jpg |
Looks like one of the peacocks, maybe a female. They need to mature a little before accurate sexing can be done. |
I don't know exactly what they are even if I would definitely agree on a peacock. The only thing that seems obvious to me is the fact that the one at the top is a female and the one at the bottom with the blue fin is the male. hope it helps cedric |
I look a bit around on internet Your fish is probably an african cichlid because of the dark stripes along the body but it is not a Aulonocara baenschi (yellow peacock) because when juvenile, they already have a kind of blue head and a yellow top fin which is not the case for you (it is more the opposite in fact :)). more later cedric |
to me it looks like a red peacock but blue. look at the picture here http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/p...fm?pCatId=1569 |
