Identify this fish for me please :)

I was given him yesterday along with 5 dwarf rainbow fish and 4 beautiful big cardinal tetras but im not sure what he is. He is extremely active always swimming around being boisterous, no agression is shown but he does like a little chase around with my mollies, the dwarf rainbows i was given him with don't seem to play to his messing around though and seem to be used to him, he very active when feeding splashing around at the top and darting around like a mad person as soon as flake touchs the water. I would just like to know what he is so i know if he will be okay in the set up he is in.

I may be wrong... but to me it looks kind of like a Ruby shark.

Definitely not a rainbow shark. I didn't know what it was off the top of my head, but I was guessing a barb or minnow. I think I found it though. It appears to be a red shiner, cyprinella lutrensis, which is kinda odd. Its a North American native, so it may very likely be a cool water fish.

I guess it does look more like the Red Shiner.

The body shape did remind me of a minnow. Combined with the color that's why my first response was a type of shark. I guess i didn't realize that the Ruby Shark and the Rainbow Shark was the same thing. seeing as both searches brought up very different looking fish.
