Guppy Fry Coloration

Hey everybody!

A couple months ago, I saw some tiny guppy fry swiming around in a tank of female guppies at Petco. Thinking that they'd have at least a somewhat better chance in my fully planted tank than the pretty sparse one at the store, I took five of them home (the store actually gave them to me for free - I think they figured they didn't have much chance in-store either). Three of them survived, one was likely eaten or passed away soon after being added to the tank, and the other one I think was the runt of the litter as he lasted a while but never grew like the other three.

Now at about an inch long each, one of them has colored up nicely and has a lovely red tail, but the other two have little to no coloration. Will this be their final colors, or can I expect to see more colors in the future?

Thanks for any help!
Leah

Some guppy fry don't color up very fast. I've heard of them taking a couple months gain any/all their color. I believe male and female guppies also acquire their color at a different rate as well.
