Life Cycles in a mature tank
I have noticed an interesting life cycle in my mature tank that I never paid much attention to before.
It starts with almost an explosion of pond snails. I change nohtng in feeding, they just seem to mulitply a lot more than normal.
The next thing i see is a decline in population of the pond snails but a massive explosion of little water fleas or copopods. Not sure what they are really but they are very small and white in color ranging insize from barely visible to almost the head of a pin.
Then I see a massive explosion of Hydra that are taking advantage of the populations of copopods.
Then it start all over again.
Anyone ever see a similar or different cycle of life in their tanks?
can't say i have noticed that in my tank, the only things i notice
are the little white fleas ? in my filter, and i only see them
when i clean my sponges in a bucket of old tank water.
along with any fry that have been sucked up.
