Yea, you can use those, and just change the lamps. No problem. They are going to be WAY above your tank though, those reflectors are really big, but if thats not a problem, go for it.

how high like 2 feet?they are 400watt a piece.can i use just those or do i need to add some acintics?also cam i just trim the reflectors some to loosn up the light?

I think the units are almost 3' long themselves. You can keep them 8" off the water with no isses. I was just thinking how much they are gonna stick up in the air.

I would still add actinics. Just a couple of T5 or T8. What is you lighting now? And I would probably use a 14k or 20k bulb for the halides. They add more blue to the spectrum.

One thing I always wanted to do with my 150 was to build a wall around it, so it was in fact part of the wall. If you don't mind looking at these lights then it won't be a problem, otherwise you are going to need a vary large canopy...

4 15inch t8s and 2 30 inch t8s..the standard ones that usually come with a tank.yeah thats my idea ! i want to either build around it or cut out a wall to a room and have it stick behind it.

I would just pick up some actinic bulbs to use in your current fixtures and then 10-20k bulbs for your Halides (depending on how much blue spectrum you want).

Add these for Actinics.
