Danios, cories and...?

I'd really like to add another fish to my larger tank. I've been thinking maybe lemon or blue emperor tetras. What do you think? Any suggestions? I know my husband would love something more colorful, but that's all I've been able to think of so far.

Wanted to add - I originally was going to add my Von Rios to the big tank and get my lone Cardinal some buddies, but catching the Von Rios has proved impossible. I'd have to strip everything else out of the tank, so I finally gave up.

You want a fairly active fish, to keep up with the danio. In this regard, the blue emperor--assuming you mean the Kerri Tetra (Inpaichthys kerri) which is frequently commonly called the Blue Emperor although it has no relation with the true emperors--would be good as it is active and peaceful. The male has a nice blue sheen; a group of 7 with 4 male and 3 female would be good.

The Flame Tetra is perhaps another option for a bit of red, though not bright. The Colombian Tetra would be a good match but only in a larger tank, i would not put this in anything less than 3 feet length.

Among the cyprinids, perhaps the Black Ruby Barb? Or Danio choprae (the so-called Glowlight Danio)?

Byron.

Thanks, Byron. I think the blues it is.

Well, no one around me has kerri tetra and according to one LFS, his supplier can't keep them alive which is why no one in my area has them. Feel like I'm back to square one. Any other suggestions?
