Are Pearl Danios (Danio albolineatus) fin nippers?
I saw some of these at my lfs today. Wow. Has anyone who has kept them seen them fin nip?
I have looked at the profile at this site and tried looking on Google, I just finished reading the first 5 pages of links about them on care. None of them have said they fin nip, but none of them have specifically said they don't either. I have also looked under "pearl danio" fin nipping and their scientific name fin nipping, but couldn't find a clear answer.
Pretty little fish. Almost all fish will be fine in a community provided there are sufficient numbers of conspecifics around. Danio, barbs, and tetra get the reputation as fin-nippers due to the propensity for people to keep them in small tanks in small numbers. Keeping a large (15+ individuals) group of them in a suitable tank will ensure they leave the rest of your fish alone.
