Cardinals won't eat!!!
 

My school of cardinal tetras seems to just ignore food now... They have always been avid eaters. They are so skinny it's scaring me. I've never seen this before. It's like they aren't even interested. Advice please!!! :-(

I guess the first question is what are you feeding them? Have you tried switching up the food?

Hi, I'm feeding them Omega One tropical freshwater flakes. I recently switched to Omega One Super Color flakes... AFTER I noticed that the Tetras weren't eating. This was not really planned out- my next bottle just happened to be super color (I already had one in the closet).

More data on the tank would be helpful. Are there other fish, and if so, what? What size tank? What are the water parameters (temp, pH, GH)? How often and what volume are water changes?

And if this was a sudden change, did anything occur at the time?

Parameters on this tank have all been fine for quite some time, but I'll run the tests again and report back. I do water changes about once a week 25% or more.

The only thing that occurs to me from this is that perhaps the barbs are intimidating the cardinals. The latter are very sedate fish, the former the opposite. Observe how they interact normally and at feeding times.

Honestly I was thinking the same thing.
