Do angelfish get eggy?

I've talked about it in threads before, so I'll keep it short. I adopted some practically full sized angelfish from someone who kept them in a 5 gallon tank with a swordtail and a cory (which i also adopted, and adopted the tank too!) I thought one angel had fuzzies going on, so i pulled it out, and treated it for about a week. It looked better, and temperatures were kinda low, so I stuck it back in the 29 gallon with the other angel, and rest of the community.

Once I put the fish I treated back in the 29, I noticed within the next couple of days the other angelfish looked a little chubby. Maybe it's just a piggy fish (it DOES like to pick at algae wafers even, but I am curious all the same. do angelfish get eggy? I know papilla emerge when they are ready to spawn, but I'm not totally sure what I'm seeing is papilla.

as far as mating behaviors go, the one i think is fat or eggy is always a bit aggressive, and the other is shy. I honestly have no idea what their genders are, I'm not even sure the people I got them from know!

Thanks for reading :)

My female would get fat prior to breeding. I would usually feed them well with frozen bloodworms and 20% water change.

Gorgeous pair! my fish looks sorta fat like that, but I'm still not sure she's gravid. The other fish isn't interested so far if she is!

kinda think they're both female though. Thanks so much for that vid!
