I have a 20g long with about 80 cherry shrimp and a couple otocinclus.
Its also medium to heavily planted.
Im looking at adding some threadfin rainbows since the tank looks empty and from what I can find, they are mostly shrimp safe.
How many would be recommended to add?
Are the easy to breed?
Will the shrimp eat the eggs?
Ottos not a problem and I think the threadfins would be ok too. A Bristlenose would be a good idea too.
I know Otos are safe, as well as BN plecos and threadfins for the most part c:
I need to know how many would be a good number to keep in my tank
I'd start with 10... Mixed group, you should get some spawning behavior pretty quick. They won't bother the shrimp, they are too small to hurt them, except maybe the smallest of shrimplets. They will spawn, but you will need a spawn mop for the eggs. (I hear moss makes a fine spawn mop, but the man made ones seem to be pretty useful).
I have a massive clump of hornwort and guppy grass that I think will work as a spawning mop, its pretty condensed.
Thank you! :-)
