KRIBS = EVIL
i just had to remove my female krib last night... one of my cories was torn apart and hiding all the time, and 6 neons were missing, and one was fully in her mouth.
i had to remove the male before because he attacked all the cories, and even the pleco thats 3 times his size.
i dont want to put them together cuz then they will create more evil offspring, and i already have a tank of them.
im not asking for any advice, im just sharing.
Thanks for sharing. Kribs and cories is never a combination I would advise, so it's good that you've posted to make others more aware.
Almost all cichlids will get very territorial when it comes to breeding time. I would surmise that this was the case. Kribs being basically a mid- and lower level fish, were establishing their breeding territory. The smaller fish just became food as most cichlids are opportunistic feeders.
almost all???? hehe, i would be pretty inclined to say all, ive seen Blue rams, keyholes, bolivian rams etc all beat things when they are in breeding mode lol
I got 1 krib (dunno if its male or female) from a buddys tank. the fish was being a little terrorist so I took him in, and put him (or her) in my 110 gallon tank with severums and what not. so far he has actually been really well behaved. everything else in the tank is big enough and mean/tough enough to kick the living crap out of him and back though, so im no worried about breeding mode.
you want to see an evil you should meet my ex. you think cichlids are evil in breeding mode? lol
