I got two of these with the tank/stand I bought. I can't wait to set this up for my GSP! I'll post pics when I get it all done. So, does anyone know what these are for? I see a few plugs are "standard", but what would one run off the other plugs?
Its a wave maker surge protector. You plug the power head you want to turn on and off. The other power head you plug into the standard outlet. Turn the timer to te cycling time you want that power head to turn on and off.
Ok, thanks. And, I'd need two powerheads if I was to have a bunch of coral, I guess? I hardly need two of these strips. Got an idea of what someone would pay on CL for one of these? Any money I can get, will go into other things I will need
I'm planning on one powerhead for my 68 gal with plenty of filtration running too. This will be a FOWLR tank only.
All depends on the tank size. With a FOWLR you need 10x the water turn over rate. Its usually better to use 2 powerheads because with this, you get the flow crashing in the middle and flow is irradic and thats a good thing. You don't want garbage collecting is dead spots.
