55 Gallon Goldfish Setup

Hey all,

I've recently rescued my own goldfish from a scummy 10 gallon tank.

They're in a 55gal now which should do them for a year or so, but I thought I'd post some pics.

I consider this their photo album, because these puppies are gonna get big! We can keep track here.

The tank is brand new and not fully established. The fish will have to endure the cycle, which is not ideal but far better than the terrible conditions in their 10gallon. I'm sure they'll be fine, I'm taking care to change water here and there.

Since i'm just trying to get this tank going there's not a lot of ornamental stuff in there. I doubt i'll add too much in the future, i want the guys to have a lot of room to just swim and stretch out.

Pardon the blurriness and flashiness i'm dealing with a crappy camera right now.

Here's the nasty old tank...

...Tada! Bright shiny new dreamhouse. Those blurs on the left are the guys. I think they're a little overwhelmed with their sprawling new digs.

I love the black moor. He was really sick when I got him and now he's a healthy stud.

They really seem to enjoy eachother's company

Thanks for checking in guys. This is a brand new tank so things are bound to change before too long.

Take care!

Wow, a calico and a black moor. Those were the very first fish in my first aquarium 46 years ago. Flashback time!!!!!!!!!!

They look like they're enjoying their new home. Must be like going from a shack to a mansion!

wow herefishy, i'll take that as a good sign! how'd yours do?

jeaninel i think they really were freaked when i put them in there. they must've figured a whale ate them or something. i bet they've never had so much freedom to move about.

New water usually gets cloudy when starting a new tank.

Great fish and new tank. :)
