Fish Diet Hello again TFK community! My question has to do with recommendations for a health balanced fish diet. My goal is to provided my fish with the proper nutrition and maximize their coloration. My aquarium community is made up of Brilliant Rummy Nose's, Neon's, Harlequin Rasbora's, Cherry Barbs and a few peppered Cory's. Right now I'm feeding Omega one Superior color flakes, live brine shrimp, frozen blood worms and sinking pellets for the Cory's. Any suggestions would be much appreciated, Thanks! |
A good staple food is the best place to start. Omega One and New Life Spectrum are both quality foods. Personally, I like to provide a little variety just to break up the boredom; however, I try not to overdo it. The staple food is much more balanced. The live brine shrimp provide a little of the hunt and I think that's a good thing. It seems like you are providing a good diet. Just take it easy on the treats. My fish get the staple food at least six days a week and maybe a treat one day. |
For a balanced diet, you can't go wrong with New Life Spectrum. They make a small fish pellet formula that is found at Petco. It's what I feed my community. And I feed my other fish varieties of their food. I prefer pellet to flake as pellets looses its nutritional value slower and contain less fillers. Frozen or live food is always fun to mix it up with, too. |
You're doing fine. I'm a fan of Omega One and Ed's Almost Natural as they use FRESH FOOD GRADE fish (and kelp) rather than fishmeal. Keep doing what your doing and you fish should be happy. |
