Feeding Angelfish

Getting so red koi angels. What do you experienced owners feed to get max. color and health... I am feeding NLS pellets right now. Is there something better for the angels????

Depending on the size of the fish, feed a variety of foods, flake, pellets, shrimp pellets, thawed rinsed mysis, occasional brine. IME, live mosquito larva is a big big hit! Works well, along with water changes, to prompt spawning.

I would caution against the overuse of color enhancing foods; they will keep the red areas redder, but may also cause the white areas to take on a yellowy tinge if overfed. I would use them for this variety of angel, but only on occasion.

Is this New Life Spectrum?

It's a very good food, in my opinion.

I have to say, the tendency of people to abbreviate every brand and species makes answering questions more like doing a crossword puzzle. In the future, as a nicety to those with whom you communicate, it is okay to abbreviate if you first spell out the entire name of something. For example, you could say

"I have Bolivian Rams (hereafter referred to as 'BRs')".

Then it's okay to use BR whenever you refer to them in the rest of your post, because we are sure about what you are referring to.

See what I mean?

I got my Koi Angelfish from a breeder. He told me that to keep the orange color vibrant to use foods with beta caratine in them. I currently use TetraColor by tetramin for flake food. I also occasionally give them some lettuce. other than that they get fed the same as any other Angelfish.

I used really cheap ken's cichlid food and my angels did fine and got huge. Eventually I sold them cuz they wouldn't stop spawning in my community tank =/
