"Red" tail black shark
Recently I saw some RTBS's at Petco, but their tails were gray. Is this natural? I'm certain they were red-tails, there was no mistaking them. Do they start off without any color and then develop it as they get older? Is this a sign of poor health? I know bettas frequently change colors for many factors, but do red tail black sharks do this as well? I thought this was a curious situation, but didn't trust any employees to know what was going on and give me a good answer.
Has anyone else ever seen this?
Do you have pics of this fish?
No, I didn't have my camera with me at the time. I'm going back soon so I'll try to snap a quick picture of them. They don't like you taking pictures of the animals, so I'll have to be all ninja-sneaky. No one's ever in the fish department anyway.
