i have a 5 or 6" senegalus.. i added 10 rummynose tetras and woke up and only 6  I just do not believe he fit them all in his belly overnight after eating bloodworms, 2 huge cichlid pellets(for him barely swallowable after chewing) , and smaller new life spectrum pellets. but i can't find their bodies after searching my tank with a flashlight.. is it possible he hid the bodies LOL.. like to eat later? he looks fat but not THAT fat..

If you mean Senegal Bichir, this is an ambush predator and it will readily eat any fish smaller than itself. And it stalks prey at night.

polypterus senegalus.. yup. yea i know that it would be normal for him to snatch these fish at night.. i just can't see how he fit 4 of them inside his tiny body so i didn't know if they were possibly capable of catching some fish and then "saving them for later". I didn't find any bodies stashed anywhere so i'm guessing his jaws can really crush/compact his prey.. just surprising since he still has trouble swallowing medium sized hikari cichlid pellets.

When fish die in the tank, it is common for the current to wedge the fish in somewhere outbid sight. So them dying may or may not have had to do with the bichir, and also, he may or may not have consumed all of them. So yes, it's possible the bodies are still in the tank.
