What Are Great Tank Mates For Dalmatian Mollies?
the thing is they are the only ones in my tank, not that it's boring but i want to give some color to the tank.
Mollies are very peaceful fish, and are great with most other fish. Just stay away from overly aggressive fish. Some colorful ideas are cardinal tetras (get multiple ones to form a school), neon blue dwarf gourami, blood red swordtails, Boesemani Rainbows, fancy guppies, emerald cory cats, cherry barbs, and pretty much the majority of freshwater fish! Just make sure they are tropical, and non-aggressive. :)!
I have a big family of lyretail dalmations with other mollies, platies, black phantom tetras, and zebra danios. All is well.
I love the dalmations... they are the biggest of my mollies and they have a lot of personality. Have fun :)
Other mollies, platies, and cory cats would be good
It should be said, though, that Mollies prefer brackish (and hard) water. Brackish fish include Guppies and Gobies (and a few other incompatible species, like pufferfish).
I have mine in a freshwater tank (because I did not know about the brackish thing until after I set it up with Tetras and Platys), and they seem to be flourishing, anyway. It is said that they may not be able to fight off disease as well when not in brackish water... I guess I'll cross that bridge if I come to it.
