New jack dempsey

hello everyone. i got a jack dempsey last week and hes in my 10 gallon with my other fish. iam thinking of getting a 29 gallon tank. would that be big enough for this guy when he gets bigger? i know when he gets bigger he might eat my other fish but my pleco. he gets along with my danios but i think hes beating up one of my black molly's. basically iam just wonderin if a 29 would be alright for him. i will post a pic of him later. hes only about 2 1/2 to 3 inches long now. my lfs said he was a green texas cichlid. but after looking up pictures of juvenile jacks and greens, he looks nothing like a green texas.

In the long run, a 55g would be the best possible minimum for a JD. What pleco do you have?

The plecos grow very fast and poop a lot, so they need a decntently large tank of 55 or larger.

Common plecos grow 18" and larger.

Dempseys can get big. There is also a reason they call them Jack Dempseys. Jack Dempsey was a great heavyweight boxer in the 1930's and 40's....'nuff said? I would hesitate to put Dempsey's in a 55. A 70g,90g, or larger would be much better.

i know alot about mr. William (jack) dempsey. his first official fight was in 1914 i believe. i know a 55 gallon would be best, but i have a very small budget.
