Prime conditioner smell
 

As I was changing water today I noticed my Prime has a strong odor. Has anyone else smelled this or is something wrong with mine?

I don't use Prime, but I believe i have been told that it tends to smell something like sulphur.

The cheapest I can buy. I only have chlorine in my water, so I look for a conditioner that handles chlorine (which all of them do) and then get the least expensive. I did try Big Al's but it left the tanks slightly cloudy for one to two days, so I am now using Nutrafin. For years I used Kordon's but it is more expensive.

You need one that handles whatever is in your water.

Mine has that sulpher smell, too. It's normal. The main ingredient is a sulpher-based compound. If you look on the website, it says a sulpher smell is normal. Nothing to worry about except making the bathroom smell bad!

Yeah - Prime stinks to high heaven but it works pretty good :)

Going to agree with the others, it has a strong sulfurous smell.

I purchased some Seachem Safe. It is like a powder version of prime except it is super concentrated and a lot cheaper. The smell is 100X worse. I use 1/4 teaspoon per 50 gallons. I have over 750 gallons of aquariums.
